As many of you are probably aware, most student do not get high marks (good grades) in Chemistry.  I realize that High School, General, and Organic Chemistry can seem like they are overwhelmingly difficult subjects.  But they do not have to be folks.  I remember in my high school chemistry class the class average was a C, and this was the honors class with the supposed brightest kids in the school.  Unlike my Chemistry classes in College, High School Chemistry was a breeze to me.  I ended up being the Chemistry Student of the Year.  Although High School Chemistry was easy for me, I still remember many of my classmates being extremely frustrated with the subject.  College General and Organic Chemistry are subjects that many students do not make it through.  And of the less than 50% of the class that makes it to the end of the semester, not even 10% of them will get A’s.  (These are rough estimates I have made based on talking with students from other Colleges and Universities.)  I remember that my first semester’s General Chemistry class started out with roughly 50 kids at the begging of the semester and at the end of the semester only 12 students remained.  And of those 12 students me and this other older student were the only two students to receive A’s.  And this other student happened to be a Statistics professor.  But folks it will not matter who your competition is if you follow my study system, because the principles of science care not who manipulates and applies them.

I hope that you folks can learn from my troubles, hard knocks, and mistakes.  No sense in two people having to go through the same pain and misery.  Folks the way the current system is set up, most students have extreme difficulty learning and earning high marks in Chemistry.  Getting high marks in Chemistry is often essential for students hoping to get into medical, density, pharmacy, and engineering professional schools.  Available spots at these professional schools are often extremely competitive.

I will briefly go over the two painful years I spent studying, learning, and mastering Chemistry.  This will hopefully give you folks a good idea of why it is so essential to be following a study plan that maximizes your study time and teaches you the essential concepts of chemistry in the correct sequence.  I ended up getting A’s in General Chemistry I and the corresponding lab, General Chemistry II and the corresponding lab, Organic Chemistry I and the corresponding lab, and Organic Chemistry II and the corresponding lab.  But these marks caused me much pain, frustration, and time.  I studied on average just Chemistry for 4 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This study schedule went on for almost one and a half years.  I remember that I did not even take a break in the summer because I was so stressed about organic chemistry the upcoming year.  During that summer I traveled with my family to Florida for our annual family vacation.  My parents had rented a condo near Disney World, sounds exciting right?  Well I did not get to enjoy much of my time in Florida because I stayed inside watching Organic Chemistry lecture videos.  Sounds pretty depressing doesn’t it.  Well I will tell you something even more depressing that chemistry took for me.  I had a college basketball scholarship; I loved playing basketball so much.  I had worked incredibly hard all throughout high school both lifting weights and playing.

(Here is a picture of me when I used to be in playing shape.  At a time when I actually had more than one hour of free time a day.)  I had to quit basketball even before the season started, because I had no time at all.  Not even time to get four hours of sleep a night because basketball, chemistry, and all my other classes where taking up so much time.  It was either quit basketball or probably get a C in General Chemistry.  I knew if I got a C in General Chemistry my parents would probably kill me and I would probably have a much harder time trying to get into professional school (medical, pharmacy, dental, ect).  My first year of General Chemistry was a painful experience.  I studied so hard and unfortunately wasted a lot of time studying crappy material that did a piss-poor job of presenting the essential principles of Chemistry.  I ended up getting A’s for both semesters of General Chemistry, but something just didn’t feel right.  I hadn’t gotten to a point where I was able to logically understand how all the concepts in Chemistry came together.  I knew that if I could just account for and see the relationships among all the different concept variables, Chemistry would be so much easier.  (And it is, once you fully understand how everything fits together chemistry is easy.)  I started devouring all the material that looked promising on Chemistry.  Some of the material I devoured included: Linus Pauling’s General Chemistry text, two different year long General Chemistry lecture video courses put out by two prestigious Universities, three different year long Organic Chemistry lecture video courses put out by three prestigious Universities, the Examkrackers material, Dr. Ferdinand’s material, over 20 frustrating texts, and four well written texts.

That summer I really focused on seeing the big picture.  (Folks once you can see the big picture everything in Chemistry comes so much easier.  That is why in my study plan; the big picture is developed right away.  This drastically differs from the way most schools teach chemistry.  Most schools try to teach a couple concepts at a time and not expose students to certain concepts until later into the year.  This style of teaching leads to confusion and frustration for most students.)  I used the first part of the fall semester to finally tie up all the loose ends that I had.  I then used the second half of my fall semester of Organic Chemistry to really confirm my mastery of the subjects by doing thousands of practice problems from a number of different textbooks and online sources.  The second semester of organic chemistry was a breeze for me, I only had to studied for like 10 minutes a day. (And that was usually just spent on memorizing certain chemical structures.)

Do you folks have any idea how frustrating it is to waste so much time and energy?  If only I had applied my focus on the right area of study at the right time.  I could have cut my study time down by 85%.  I have created excellent study plans (for High School Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry) so you folks don’t have to go through what I went through.  Some of the features of these study plans include the following points:

  • Developing the big picture right away.  My study plan exposes you to all the concepts and their relationships early on.  My study plan will rid you of the overwhelmed feeling you may have from what may seems to be a huge amount of disconnected information.    Through my study plan you will quickly see that there is not really that much information, just some main concepts from which there are many potential applications.  You will also quickly see that these main concepts are not disconnected at all.

  • My study plan will shape how you approach Chemistry.  Folks once you see what is really going on your attitude towards Chemistry will change.

  • How to utilize tools that make learning Chemistry so much easier.  I will go into detail about how to use molecular models.  I even present how to make your own special purpose molecular models out of Playdough, which are very useful when studying reaction mechanisms and transition states.  I also explain how small mirrors can be used as a study aid when studying stereochemistry.

  • I also talk about and demonstrate how to use the TI-89 calculator.  The TI-89 calculator can be a great tool and timesaver.  The TI-89 calculator can be especially helpful to students in High School and General Chemistry.

  • The goal of my study plan is for you to be armed with the fundamental concepts of Chemistry and the critical thinking ability to apply these concepts to varying situations.

  • Through my study plans you will see how General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry are really one in the same.  (You may have heard some silly students talk about how General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry are so different, like the difference between black and white.  These silly students can’t see that these subjects are so related that they are one in the same.)  I will also provide supplemental content so you folks will be able to get a better understanding of how physics and chemistry relate.  These two subjects are basically a continuation of one another.)

  • My study plan will make you a whiz at answering questions.  You will see how, that once you are armed with the fundamental concepts of Chemistry most problems are much more closely related than they may have appeared to you at first glance.

  • I think studying Organic Chemistry by functional group is well, stupid.  My study plan teaches Organic Chemistry by concept.  Traditional schooling places emphasis on memorizing a list of properties for each functional group.  Folks you don’t need to do this.  By applying the concepts taught in my study plan you will know that _____ behaves this way because _____ and ________ .  My study plan is all about applying the basic principles.  Similar to Physics, you can derive what you need to know from a few fundamental concepts.

  • My study plan involves the use of free lecture videos to teach 95% of the study plan content.  I always hated having to try to decipher page after page of poorly written textbooks.  Many of the lecture videos used in my study program are taught by professors (or retired professors) from major universities, such as Texas A&M and MIT.  But there is no need to feel intimidated by big name professors.  You will be able to understand them easily, especially after going through the first part of the study plan.  I have selected only the absolute best lecture video presentations for each concept.

  • I will also give you folks links to other free lecture video content that is not within my study plan.  These links include over 100 hours of chemistry lecture video material.  (From basic content to advanced content)

  • I will also include links to lecture video content in other subjects, such as business, business management, economics, finance, physics, computer science, nanotechnology, history, medicine, biology, and more.  This is well over 400 hours of lecture video content.

  • My study plan implements many excellent free study questions.  These questions have corresponding answers so you can check to make sure you are manipulating the problems correctly.  I will also provide links to other free study questions that are not part of my study plan.

  • I will give you folks a website address that allows you to get expert answers to any questions you may have from Masters and Ph.D students. (For practically any subject you can think of)  It does cost money to receive answers to your questions.  (I knew one girl in my Physical Chemistry class that would outsource quite a bit of her work to this site)

  • I will be talking about the importance of diet, exercise, and lifestyle.  These factors do have an effect on how you think and process information.  I will also talk about supplementation for general health purposes and then for specific purposes.  I will give some protocols that can be utilized when you need to “see the big picture”.  And I will also offer some other protocols that aid in focused thinking.  I will also be discussing protocols that can be used when you folks need to be able to recall vast amounts of information.  (All the time I hear from silly students how Adderall is so wonderful, yet it doesn’t help them with Chemistry at all.  I personally believe that this is because ample serotonin and serotonin derivative chemical species are necessary to be able to “see the big picture”.  Have you ever noticed how some people seem to be able to get the “big picture” much faster than others?  It is individual brain chemistry folks, and it can be manipulated to some degree.)

  • If you folks are planning on taking the MCAT, PCAT, DAT, or other professional entrance exam my study plan will help you blow the competition out of the water.  (I knew an Organic Chemistry TA that was always doing MCAT practice problems.  She said that she had been averaging 29s on her practice tests.  She was disappointed because her average hadn’t improved much in the last six months of study.  I suggested to her that this might be because she did not fully understand all the concepts.  To make a long story short, I gave her roughly 30 hours worth of material to study, consulted her on her diet, gave her a supplementation program, and convinced her to exercise five times a week.  She ended up getting 14s on both her biological and physical science portions of the MCAT.  And she told me that her level of anxiety had decreased substantially.)

  • Once finished with my study plan, students will be able to manipulate the subject of chemistry.  Students will have the skills to be top industry players.  This study plan, in a way, is really an extension of me.  I critically and carefully thought out this study program for over three months.  Folks I am all about results, and if you folks put in the time my plan will produce for you.
